Safety on Spotter
Training with someone new means meeting a stranger. A few habits make it a lot safer, and we're here if something goes wrong.
In an emergency, call 911. Then tell us so we can act on the account.
If you're a client
- Meet for the first session somewhere public, like a gym or a park, not at a home.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Keep the conversation on Spotter until you trust the person. It gives us a record if you need to report something.
- Pay through Spotter when your trainer offers it. Be wary of anyone pushing you to pay upfront by gift card, wire or crypto.
- A Verified credentials mark means our team checked at least one of the trainer's certifications. We don't run background checks, so use your judgment.
- Stop any exercise that hurts, and talk to a doctor before starting a new program if you have a health condition.
If you're a trainer
- Meet new clients in a gym or another public place first.
- Ask about injuries and health conditions before the first session.
- You never have to keep working with someone who makes you uncomfortable. Archive the conversation and report it.
How to report a problem
Signed in, use Report in any conversation menu or on a trainer or studio page. You can also email support@spotter-us.com with the name of the person and what happened.
Report harassment, threats, anything that made you feel unsafe, scams, fake profiles, spam, or inappropriate photos or messages.
What happens next
- A person on our team reads every report.
- When you report a conversation, we save a copy of it so we can review it even if it's later archived or deleted.
- We don't tell the other person who reported them.
- We may contact you for more detail, warn the account, hide it from search, or remove it.
